"el-TIGRE" (el-Telescopio Internacional de Guanajuato, Robótico-Espectroscópico - previously known as HRT - Hamburg Robotic Telescope) is a private and "flexible" telescope, partially funded by the University of Liège. It is a partnership between Hamburg, Guanajuato, and Liège universities. It will enable the Liège astrophysicists to undertake numerous stellar studies, and also give the possibility to amateurs and the general public to discover a poorly known science.

The Liège astrophysicists have a long standing expertise in stellar physics: this telescope will enable them to go one step further, i.e. to access long-term observing campaigns, which is essentially impossible with existing facilities.

Three main types of targets are foreseen: massive stars, young stars, and pulsating stars. These are "hot topics" with many unsolved questions related to basic interrogations: how do stars live and enrich galaxies, how do planets and stars form and what do stellar interiors look like.

Related to this project, we propose dissertation subjects for space sciences (or related) master students, as well as PhD theses.
