The telescope is installed on La Luz, a 2400 meter mountain at about a half-hour drive from Guanajuato (central Mexico). Besides el TIGRE, La Luz hosts an educational telescope belonging to the University of Guanajuato. Meteorological conditions on the site are very favorable with about 80% clear nights (totally or partially).
